Hearst Center to offer winter classes


CEDAR FALLS — The Hearst Center for the Arts in Cedar Falls is taking registrations for winter workshops.

A number of new workshops are being offered this winter for ages 16 and older. For a complete list of classes and workshops, or to download a class brochure, visit the Education page on TheHearst.org. To register, stop in or call 273-8641. Online registration also is available using the city of Cedar Falls LeisureLink system.

The Book Arts Workshop is a three-day workshop; instructor Ann Renee Lighter guides students through creating their own hand-made book; 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 18 and 25 and March 3.

Creativity Talk with Carrie Worthington; guides participants through a discussion about how to stretch their creative methods in personal and professional pursuits; 1 to 2 p.m. Feb. 20.

“Picture This” Matting & Framing Workshop is a three-day workshop; Merle Poland teaches students how to mat and frame artwork on paper; 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 21 and 28 and March 6.
